Dropping cash on the Yukon. What would you do?

Heyo. I posted a while back to introduce myself and the truck we bought. It's a '99 GMC Yukon SLT 4x4. Now comes the time to invest in it and was wondering what recommendations the expo world would have. Budget isnt going to be anything crazy, <2000. The report from the shop inspection concluded that there were some leaks. The rear shocks, front pinion seal, left axle seal all leaking. Not too bad. Seeping, not yet hitting the ground.

I have long term hopes for this to be a solid camping trail rig. Right now it's our daily driver in town. So full blown off road options aren't too practical at the moment. Wondering if there are steps to take in that direction, sort of prepping for the big league mods down the road.

Another issue at the moment is poor mpg. We're getting around 9 average. That's low. I'm thinking its attributed to the mismatched all terrain tires and the airraid air intake with the sensor that keeps popping up a code.

Recently had the transmission fluid changed, oil change. Other tune up stuff is in the near future (plugs, wires, tackle this air filter issue)

The truck has about 167,000 miles on it. I'd like to keep it through another 100,000.

What would you do with a $2000 budget?

Thanks!

Check your O2 sensors as they are a likely culprit when gas mileage tanks. I am getting 15mpg out of mine on CA gas as a reference. Have you verified that the code coming up is related to the intake? Could be something else as well. A new set of Bilsteins will run you about $320 and that is where I would start. Diff fluid change is probably in order as these tend to get neglected more than engine and trans fluids. A high-4 kit is a great addition on these trucks. It allows the low beams to stay on when turning on the hi beams. Really improves visibility at night.
