I would like to put dual batteries in my KJ. Are there any manufactures for this and would I need to install a bigger alternater?

the commander has a 160 amp alternator. the commanders that came with the 3.7L V6 have a towing option add on that uses this option. i think it would probably bolt right up to your motor as well.

i have the 160 amp alternator and a yellow top on my commander with a V8. i never have charging problems. the winch doesn't slow down any when its operating as well. its a good combo. i may add another battery with an inverter later on.

Look on the Ausjeep forum www.ausjeepoffroad.com - someone did it there I recall. Generally it's difficult because there's not a lot of spare room under the bonnet (hood). Some people have done it with the second battery located in the cargo area. They might be able to help with your alternator question.
