Dual battery system for Africa expedition

Dear Experts,

I would like to have advice on my possible dual battery set up for my expedition Toyota LC HZJ 75.

What I expect from the solution
- a dual battery system entirely under bonnet where I have around 70 cm of space for batteries.
- any of the 2 batteries should start the car if the other is ruined
- should cope with daily consumption between 40Ah and 60Ah.
- replacement should be possible, so generic solutions preferred
I have an OEM alternator (55A) and planning to complement the system with a ~130watt Solar Cell fixed to top.

I see two main options:

Option A
2 identical dual purpose AGMs, 80Ah each (e.g. Varta or Exide) + Low voltage protection.
Would still require a regulator for the Solar Panel and a smart charger.
This is very simple, gives enough capacity, but the permanent connection makes it somewhat risky.

Option B
AGM starting battery + a deep cycle AGM of 115/91ah (Varta LAD115).
CTEK D250S would serve as Solar Panel regulator, smart charger and isolator.
This gives proper isolation, but requires more conciousness on consumption.

Questions:
1. Which setup is recommended? I like B more but A seems superior.
2. This is quite an expensive set up, how could I make it cheaper without making it worse?
3. What other brands/types of batteries accessible in Europe could I consider?
For Option B
3. Running with the CTEK D250S, do I need a Smartpass or anything to regulate the charging from the alternator to preserve the good conditions of the AGM?
4. Do I need an AGM as starter at all?

Thanks for any comments and suggestions.

I bump this up, maybe I had too many questions first.
To simplify, what do you think a better and more reliable setup would be:
- two identical and non-separated Dual Purpose batteries
- a starter and a deep cycle battery linked only for charging.

Thanks for answers.

You might want to watch the video that 4XOverland just put out on this subject. It's on YouTube. They seem to lean towards option B.
