Dual Battery systems - choosing between 3

Rewiring the winch to the house bank seems like the way to go. Charging two different banks from the same source would require special tech. A small panel combined with a gennie is a good combo as solar is only fully utilized for a short time. It takes a long while to top off at low current. Voltage drop on trailer length runs is something you want to check.

I use a blue sea acr. It is idiot proof, easy to install and requires zero input to operate short of throwing a switch to self jump or combine batteries for other reasons. I basically installed it and forgot it was there, perfect piece of kit in my book.

That is what i was looking for - it works and your done.. also with the new winch i can push the switch and combine the batteries which for a dual motor winch is important. Not to mention easy self jump. Breaking out cables to self jump is a non-starter for me.

Same here, I went from a NL system to the Blue Sea and have never looked back.

I'm not sure how the BS 7622 will play in your needs but mine has been flawless over two years including one self- jump starting.
