Hi All,

Thought the community would find our latest build project of interest as we shoe horn a V8 6.6 Litre Duramax into our Fuso FG along with custom Dayna Super 60 Axles and drive train!

Will also be posting images and updates as we navigate this build and the challenges it present along the way ;o)

Doing anything with the suspension like Rebel did?
Would love a link to Rebel as not familiar with them but we have just gone with the Fuso Offroad springs, external reservoir shocks and adding Air Bag suspension in the rear currently. Does not need to be a rock crawler lol just get us places without the need for a chiropractor! (although my wife is one lol)

Did you say "Super 60s" front and rear? What's your curb weight fully loaded? Looking forward to hearing how much of a difference you perceive when you test it with the old "butt dyno" on your first drive after the swap.

Hi, Yes Dayna Super 60s form a F550 but with custom trusses in 1/4" steel added front and rear for additional stiffness. Weight of the final build is to be determined but prior to the engine and powertrain swap we were at 12,000lb we are estimating just under 11,000lb total weight but will verify on a weight scale for sure. I am also very keen to see how the truck performs, will keep you posted ;o)

To aid those who may be interested in searching for, or following this build, you may wish to change 6.6L Durand to 6.6L Duramax and change Dayna Super 60 to Dana Super 60.

Interested to see how this comes out. Fat Boys, a.k.a. Super 60s are rated at 7k, if memory serves me correctly. So, depending on your load balancing, you may actually be over weight on one of these axles.

You are indeed correct but we are all good on the load balance as it was 100lb off being even, I will correct those spellings - also please note you are talking about the stock axels load rating which is fine for our needs but we have taken that to the next lever adding the trusses also increasing their structural integrity.
