I ran OME MD coilovers with 1.5 inch spacers for a year. The travel yielded by this setup was outstanding, but I think it caused premature wear in my lower ball joints. My driver side LBJ was toast at ~45k miles when I finally swapped it out. I now run extended travel Coilovers with 1 inch spacers, which yield less down travel than the previous OME setup. Just some food for thought......

Thanks for the info, I think I'm going to play it safe and leave my front suspension alone for now. I am going to add bump stops to the stock UCA's to cut out the minimal clang I get for now.

In other news these beefy things showed up in the mail today...

Front recovery points from P&P Engineering , they fit with the ARB bumper! Stoked that someone (in the US) is finally offering something like this.

Sweet!!! I've been waiting for someone to provide this.

They came with extended bolts for the drivers side, you reuse the ones that mount the stock hook on the passenger side. They are 1/2" thick FWIW.

Got them mounted, it only took a little metal massaging to get everything to play nice. They don't protrude very far down which is more of a plus than a minus in my book, the shackle will contact the lower bumper mount if pulled up at too much of an angle. They are 1/2" thick so I think maybe a soft shackle could be used?

When I was under the truck bolting on the new goodies I noticed the trans cooler hose was weeping fluid around the inlet to the radiator. I just had the rad and trans replaced (ouchie) last november, that's a painful memory I don't want to repeat. Took it to the dealer who did the repair for new hoses, not sure why they didn't replace them when doing the big job.

Anyhow they had me drive a 16 Frontier SV long bed home. Other than the length it felt so familiar for some reason...but so much quieter than my 11 y/o truck on mud tires. Also the new Armadas were getting me just a little hot and bothered.

Yeah the new Armadas are nice. My wife is looking for a new vehicle but she seems to have her heart set on a Highlander. I just don't get the point of buying a minivan that doesn't have sliding doors. That is the bet part of a mini van

Nice truck man. I have a 2006 nismo with 290,000 miles. Completely stock. It has been fantastic. Taken me "there and back again" with no hesitation. ☺

Hot and bothered for sure when you experience their actual fuel economy .... the main reason I moved away from my Titan!

This popped up for a pretty good deal on our local facebook overlandy group so I jumped on it. Had to order mounting brackets so it'll hopefully be a little project for next weekend.

After a bunch of hand wringing over whether or not I need a bumper with a swing out I've decided that it isn't practical for my use. But I definitely could use some more clearance in the rear so a new bumper is in order, showed my wife the ARB and she replied "eww"...so I just placed an order for a Shrockworks rear bumper. Looks like CBI is willing to make a retrofit swing out for it if I change my mind about a swing out down the road. Pretty stoked to be getting rid of a little chrome is 6 weeks or so.

Something that I was set on when I had swing out stuck in my head was to have a hitch receiver mounted on the arm for my bike rack. We do a lot of camping traveling to cyclocross races in the fall and dealing with the bikes at camp is kind of a PIA. Ran across this thing...

From MWE Racks . Looks like a pretty solid solution to that problem.
