Earthroamer sell off?

To showcase how off the rails the market was for a few years and how hard it’s crashing

Any vehicle has a market, buyers and sellers. The market for that asset fluctuates and all markets do. As long as new Earthroamers sell for retail there are buyers.

Used is about supply and demand, like with any market.

I don’t see anything crashing

There is zero incentive for ER or any manufacturer to give sales data away. The CEO mentioned on a podcast that he needs to keep prices up for pre-roamed market to help protect current (and sure prospective) owners.

I did a bit of research, inventory does move but some of the units have been sitting for over a year. As the inventory ages, some prices fall quickly while others fall slowly (assume that is up to the individual owners with some guidance from ER). A couple sales on BaT that show liquidation pricing for LTS models at $300k. The way I think about it is all opportunity cost, if I have a $500k asset sitting around without being used that is $30k-$50k of return per year I’m missing out one, plus depreciation and holding costs. I see one for rent in Colorado for $1k per day so if I want to use one periodically, that’s not a bad way to go.

My take is if losing $100k+ bothers you, don’t buy an EarthRoamer. However, if that’s no big deal, then seems like a fun way to roam around the US for a while.

IF anything does not sell within 30 days it's OVERPRICED for the given market!
I would say 90 days given the specialty nature, single sales location and busy lives of someone who can swing $500k, but I’m pulling that out of my ******. Tracked the asking price of all the current LTi inventory and crazy to see almost $200k price drops in some of the units. Now just have to find the time to use for 3 months a year and I can justify the expense and start to build a case to pitch to my wife.

$200K price drops and they STILL have not sold!

Guaranty you the owner of EarthRomer is doing everything he can to try to convince those with ER's for sale with him NOT to drop their price it's just that time of year when things do not sell. That's BS!

That owner of ER cannot afford for the real market price of used ER's to be known to everyone including those looking to buy new! Depreciation of any used item is a fact of life. It's that "Fact" that has all the ER people worried!

It's all about the price matching the condition of the item and the current market for that type of item!

Can we say STILL OVERPRICED???

Disagree. The buyer behavior changes over time like ocean waves. If US GDP sits at over 4% for 12 months, folks will start spending big money again. Look at the catamaran market. Its the same as the Earthroamer, both over $500,000.

It's still all about the PRICE!

We had a bunch of years with free money. That allowed a lot of people to buy things they could not afford otherwise.
Now that free money is no longer an option, people can't afford to buy many of the high ticket items.
And when we start to see the high ticket items being discounted, you will know that things are going to get hard.
It's coming though.

This earthroamer ends in 3 days on CarsandBids. Will be interesting to see what it gets bid to:

2018 with just 13k miles

A 2017 sold on BaT for $313,000 a few months ago, which I felt was a decent price

Either way, all of these people asking $400k+ for non-LTI models on the earthroamer pre-roamed page are out to lunch.
