There is zero incentive for ER or any manufacturer to give sales data away. The CEO mentioned on a podcast that he needs to keep prices up for pre-roamed market to help protect current (and sure prospective) owners.
I did a bit of research, inventory does move but some of the units have been sitting for over a year. As the inventory ages, some prices fall quickly while others fall slowly (assume that is up to the individual owners with some guidance from ER). A couple sales on BaT that show liquidation pricing for LTS models at $300k. The way I think about it is all opportunity cost, if I have a $500k asset sitting around without being used that is $30k-$50k of return per year I’m missing out one, plus depreciation and holding costs. I see one for rent in Colorado for $1k per day so if I want to use one periodically, that’s not a bad way to go.
My take is if losing $100k+ bothers you, don’t buy an EarthRoamer. However, if that’s no big deal, then seems like a fun way to roam around the US for a while.
