Pretty fun step down which went immediately into a hard switchback.

Approaching the pass (12,140) from the east side. I was so busy driving I didn’t get a chance to get pics of how rocky (and steep) the approach was.

The view from the top of the pass.

More exploring.

Have you done this or other similar trails in a 1/2 ton? Did you notice the extra girth of the 3/4 ton?

I’ve never taken another truck offroad like I have the PW so I can’t compare. I would say having a spotter (my wife) in tight situations definitely makes a difference for go/no-go. Due to the weight I would certainly not venture on something wet or muddy that I would do dry, but I consider myself a novice.

how are the RT's holding up? I had a set of 35x12.5-17 RT's on my jeep and loved them. On the hunt for some 35 or 37's for my new PW. preferably bit 35's or small 37's and the RT's fit the big 35 catagory.

The R/Ts have been extremely durable and very streetable. I’ve taken the truck over every thing from rock field mountain pass trails to “run-of-the-mill” forest service roads every weekend. They also ride well on the 100’s of miles it takes to get to some of those roads. I plan to replace them with the same when the time comes.

Got a winter camp in the high country just after Christmas. Our camp site was around 10500 feet, flurries and 35 mph winds through the night, wind chill in the negatives, but we stayed comfortable with good gear. The winds made setting up the tent and cooking a challenge but that is all part of the experience.
