I can afford it, but still don't like the price. Being "freaking awesome" and "build cost" does not alone determine value. To each it's own, all it takes is one buyer. :safari-rig:

It never stops amazing me how many know it all's there are out there sitting behind the computer... Bottom line, if you don't like the price it's because you can't afford it.

I've seen this truck in person, and it is freaking awesome!!! Out of all the Defenders I have :Wow1: at over the years this one has gone where all of the others haven't.

For those of you that always say, "it's not worth that much". I dare you to build one yourself that's in the same league as this one and let me know what the final cost is. Then after you've done that, drop your pants to the world tell me your asking price.
You're exactly right Sarge. Gary is a stand up guy and his work is top rung. Whether or not it's worth it, probably not for me, but I do know that doing it right and by hand isn't cheap and so his expectations aren't surprising.

There is no doubt that there is a huge sum of money invested in that vehicle.....and it is indeed very nice. For those of us who have spent considerable sums of money in restoring and upgrading/personalizing a vehicle, if we need to sell it at some point, the more customized and expensive it is, the fewer buyers there will be. I could afford to buy this vehicle, but I will not because it would be a very impractical purchase. I would be afraid to get it dirty or for that matter to take it offroad and get it dented. Thus only a collector with vast expendable income would be likely to buy it. That doesn't mean that we don't still drool when we see such masterpieces!

If I wanted to go for an expensive *BLING* offroad vehicle, I'd get this:

Obviously I like the truck as I have followed the thread. Final amusement for this go around on bringatrailer. Best of luck to future buyer and seller!

It's worth what someone is willing to pay. Not a penny more. It's a very sweet rig and when you post these kinds of topics some will like and some will dish not based solely on financial bias but on "bang for the buck" or whatever other factors they see fit. I totally understand having "too much money into a rig you will never get your return on". I'm there now and have been for some time. And some people say I'm crazy, some people say I'd love to own your truck and some could care less. But to say the people who dish this can't afford it is inaccurate. It's a very sweet rig but as others who can afford it have said - it's not where I'd put my money. But it's a very sweet and "lustful" item. Nice job!
