EDC: The real world Everyday Carry

Ever since the 11/29/2019 knife attack in London when a bystander used a narwhal tusk to 'confront the attacker'

Just yards from the scene of the stabbings, Amy and dozens of others were gathered in Fishmongers Hall, where a celebration was taking place for a prestigious organization run by academics from the University of Cambridge. Director Amy, who has worked on Hollyoaks and Doctors, hailed the unnamed man a “hero”. She tweeted: “A guy who was with us at Fishmongers Hall took a 5’ narwhal tusk from the wall and went out to confront the attacker.

I've added an important item to my EDC (being American, I carry an Alaskan Walrus tusk) ;)

That is a great story. The guy was actually a prisoner on a sort of work release/ job skills program and IIRC he was cooking or serving food at that event or one close by. He got an early release because of his heroics!!

Is that a starting pistol? ;)

What are the details on it and what is the use case?
LoL....

Ya, kinda looks like a toy. Nah, back in the 80's-90's and working Narcotics and the 5 shoot S&W Model 60 was the state of the art of weapons there wasn't a lot of back-up options other then a Model 36 or the Beretta 21A (have that one as well).

North American Arms came out with this little .22 cal pistol in a pocket clip folder handle. Heck, pocket clip knives hadn't even been invented yet! Anyway, you could clip this to the top of your boot or inside a jacket or pocket or wherever so if you needed it you drew it, flicked it open (like a current folder pocket knife) and cocked the hammer, all in one motion. Spent many hours on surveillance practicing that draw.

Anyway, 38 years later I still have it and it still gets carried.

Cheers.

At first glance I thought that was a stack of maple bars. Maybe because I'm drinking morning coffee. He He.

Thanks for the reply. I had managed to find that model with a google search and also read an article on it. The article didn't mention that the design has been around for that long and I had assumed it was new.
