Eezi-Awn installed add'l length?

How true are the lengths/sizes on the Eezi-Awn?. For instance, the 1600 is theoretically very close to 63" wide. With the canvas cover on it, and some material side `bleed,' is it 64", 68"; for how much extra space much one account?

based on my exerience, about 4" more on the ratchet side and about 2.5-3" on the other side.

If the awning is tucked in good, the ladder and hing side run very tight

Cool thanks. One more question, is the ratchet side consistent on all models and on which specific side is it? :)

Actually, the ratchet is not attached to the tent. Just the cover. So....the world is yours! Ummm, unless the tent is rectangular (rather than square) when it's folded. Dang. I thought I was going to contribute positively, when I started to type.

If the 1600 folds to 63 x 63, then you can rotate the cover to put the ratchet where ever you like. See what I mean?

Scott,

On my 1600 the ratchet is integrated into the cover and the ratchet is on the 48" side of the cover. So the way my tent is mounted on my can-back (opens to the drivers side), I can put the ratchet side of the cover towards the rear or towards the front of my truck.

That depends on what you mean, I suppose - the rack square or rectangular? I wish I had a photo of the bottom side with the aluminum channels. The channels sit in from the edges of the tent by several inches. I seem to remember about 38" of space between centers on the parallel channels.

Hope it helps.

Mark,, when i made my rack i made it closed al the way ,, now i have redesign the rack so when i mount a ezzi awn tha tent itself can open to the back of my vehicle, this is that there is only 48 1/2 inches wide available to seat the tent in place, here is a pic of my redisign rack so you have an idea what am i talking about,, in other words the ezi awn has to meassure 48 inches wide closed so it will fit, and since the fabric of the tent hangs out when folded it might not fit. ,,i would need to know how much does the 1200 meassures when its closed with the cover in place.

Oh, I get it. You want the tent inside the rack? MMMM....yeah. The canvas and all that stuff does make the sides "poofy." :) Sorry, been doin' a little drinkin' tonight.

1/2" additional just won't be enough to work the cover into place easily. You could fight with it, I suppose. But that's no fun.

edit: with the top on, folded up, tent is about 51"-52" across.
