A 3.3 kwh LiFePO4 battery weighs 36kg = 11kg/kwh. A diesel engine consumes 200-220gm fuel to produce 1 kwh of useful energy. Even figuring tank weight maybe 250gm/kwh; a difference of a factor of 44!
It will be at least a few yrs before all electric vehicles have decent range (1-2000 km).

I reckon on the available figures I could travel 11km on one day's output from my solar.

Maybe we should think motors in the wheels and make the whole contraption lighter ....................
