Emergency Equipment, Water in freezing temperatures

Dont forget you can heatup stainless steel canteens easier than the plastic nalgenes and the like. We have a few SS canisters that we take with us, if they freeze up just put them next to the campfire while you are doing other morning activities, within ten minutes they are good to go.

Kind of Off topic but I keep a lot of water jugs frozen in our big garage freezer. A full freezer is much more efficient plus we have an on hand supply of emergency water that won't "spoil". They would also help to keep the food for a while if we lose power.
