End all / be all expedition GPS?

I have a Garmin 660 and 76csx (for canoe-camping), but want something significantly larger with top maps and tracks. I was thinking of the Lowrance 840c or 9200c. The 9200c is sold for the boating guys, so I don't know if it comes with top maps, or if they can be added. My experience so far has been with Garmin. If Garmin had a similar 8-10" screen GPS, I'd probably go for that, otherwise Lowrance seems to have a pretty good rep. I also want to make an investment that will last several years. Feel free to give me your opinions...

I have looked at those too, but I am really thinking I would be happier with a small laptop hard mounted to my vehicle.
