Engel Posi Lock to a newer ARB Freezer/Fridge??

I went from an Engel MT-45 to a new ARB 50 Qrt. Freezer/Fridge. I loved the Posi Lock (posilock, posifit) and had a dedicated outlet for it. I now have to take up a valuable 12 volt cigarette lighter style outlet.

Is there a way to swap out the cable, plug, or splice?

Has anyone done it?

Has anyone converted to a clipsal plug and if so what are the benefits?

Please let me know where to buy a Posi Lock plug or any directions that would help. Other than the advice I get my only option is to buy a cable from Engel and splice.

Other than the loss of the plug I love the newer ARB.

The ARB is a Hella style plug, they make interlocking outlets for it as well. I realize your trying to keep your Posi Lock system installed but it might be easier? If not there is no reason you couldn't splice the cord with the male end. I've not gone that direction but have done the opposite and put the Hella style on the older Engel cords.

Thanks Kurt. I will look into it. Is the Merit the same as an Anderson Plug? I know they are similar.

BTW: I still owe you a call. Things have been crazy after SEMA.
