Engine temperature with AC on?

Adding to this post after a 2300 mile road trip
Adding to this post after a 2300 mile road trip. I just got back for Wyoming and Colorado on a climbing trip with two friends. On the dive up to Wyoming through west Texas for a time with the ac on the temps climbed up to 220. This was traveling at 65 to 70 miles an hour. It came down with the outside temps as the day cooled off back to 190 to 205 and never got above 210 again until the driver home when in Kansas it again climbed back up to 215/220 in the hottest part of the day. The Wether Band said it was 107 outside. Everyone seam to keep there temps allot lower than this and say it stays there ie 205 at the hottest. I did the head gasket this spring and the rover has a new radiator. What should I look to next as far as my Temp climbing in this way? Oh again 99 Discovery 1 4.0

I don't know about the V8s, but 300Tdi RRc and DIs have a viscous main fan and two electrical booster fans in front of the condenser on aircon models. they also have a pair of additional temperature sensors in the thermostat elbow - the first one triggers the fans if the main fan can't cope, and the second will disengage the a/c compressor clutch if the electric fans still can't keep the coolant temperature under control.
