Is it possible to install these windows yourself?

Of course! These windows are extremely easy to install. We will be making an install video soon. The basic steps are:
1. Cut the hole
2. set the window into the hole and secure with tape
3. set the interior finish ring into the hole from the inside and screw the frame together
4. the blind and screen assembly hooks over the window frame and is secured by 4 screws

Done! It literally requires only a screwdriver, except for whatever tool you need to cut the hole. The windows come with a high quality rubber seal that eliminates the need for any sealant, as long as the windows are installed on a flat wall. If your wall is curved, the seal is removed and sealant and/or foam is used to accommodate the curve.

Can you buy them with and without shades? Can you buy the shades separately?

Thanks for the question. At the moment we do not have the shades as a separate item. The factory does not sell them to us that way. However, we will probably have them from time to time. We recently had a customer inquire about buying windows without blinds because the blinds might interfere with his raising roof. He ultimately decided to take the blinds too. Our relationship with the factory is new, so my hope is that we will have more freedom in time to order separate components. If someone damages a screen assembly for instance, we need to be able to replace that assembly without cannibalizing a complete window. I would also like to offer the blinds separately for those wanting to upgrade their existing windows. I'm curious....would anyone else be interested in just blinds? Check in with us in a few months, and perhaps I will have the answer you are looking for. If the situation changes I will post something here as well.

Can I leave the windows open?

Do you know what wind velocity you can keep the windows open at?

Do you risk screen failure (pulling out of the tracks, etc....) or breaking the window itself?

Do you risk screen failure (pulling out of the tracks, etc....) or breaking the window itself?

These windows have a "semi-lock" position designed specifically to secure the window in high wind and allow ventilation. The screens are fine in wind. Obviously, high wind can be very destructive to ANY window. Common sense should be used if you plan to leave the windows wide open. You do have the option of opening the screen fully. In high wind, there won't be any bugs. In the semi-lock position I would imagine that 50-60 mph wind should be fine. These windows are made with excellent components. The frames are all metal, as well as the screen/blind housing. The Seitz S-4, which is a similar window, has a plastic frame and housing.

Maybe I have not seen enough detail to understand how these windows are made. They appear to have acrylic windows without any metal in the window pane. It appears that the hardware connects to the acrylic directly, and that may be a weakness. Do you have any detail pictures?

Do you have any pictures of what the semi lock position is?

Do your prices include the blind/screen?

The attachment to the window has the strut and the latch attaching at the same substantial connection. It is definitely not a weak point. You can see it in this video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJ5m7lCxSL4

I don't have a picture handy of the semi-lock position, but the window pops out a short distance, while still being retained by the central latch. It is a position for allowing ventilation in high wind, or for secure ventilation while you sleep. "Secure" meaning that the window cannot be pulled up or open.

Yes, all of our windows come complete with the roller screen/blind assembly. Our roof hatch has the same screen/blind assembly included.

Are they’re ever any sales? I’d like 2 windows in the 20x20” range or even smaller but $400 each is just outta my reach at the moment.
