In late June, the Expedition BC family attended the third annual BC (British Columbia) Overland Rally in pristine Whistler, BC. Having already outgrown the previous venue, this year's rally was held at the Whistler Olympic Park, which was the site of many events during the 2010 Winter Olympics. Ground zero for the rally was actually at the base of the ski jump landing:

The BC Overland Rally is among the same fame as the long-standing Northwest Overland Rally held annually near Leavenworth, WA and the newly created Rocky Mountain Rally held for the first time in Gunnison, CO this summer.
The motto of these adventure rallies is "Have fun, make friends, learn stuff", and are designed/organized by Ray Hyland of Expedition Portal notoriety. Despite having 1000+ attendees, the atmosphere is intimate and family friendly, providing a superb opportunity to adhere to Ray's motto and really enjoy the weekend.

The variety of overlanding rigs and camping vehicles was impressive and touring around the camping areas was a bunch of fun.

The most popular event of the weekend by far was the off-road and technical driving course, which, like every other class/event, is including in the entry price. There was expert instruction from the certified driving instructors from Overlanding BC.

Of course our nicely equipped Sequoia made a few rounds:
