Ex Cab Truck Owners - Measurement Needed

I havent been able to measure one locally, and would like some help from the good people here.

Specifically, on an extended cab truck of the 1989 flavor, or similar model years.

I need the distance between the back of the cab, and the centerline of the rear axle.

Also, from the centerline of the rear axle, to the end of the frame.

The overall wheelbase would be awesome too.

And finally, the rough height of the exterior of the cab.

Thanks,
Gavin

I have an 86 and I'm sure they are different. 4x4Wire has a lot of old school Toyota owners, you might try there.

I've driven your '86...very nice truck.

I've got a lot of info regarding the trucks on 4x4wire, but havent checked out their forums...I'll try there.

Thanks,
G

i'll try to get these measurements to you today.

-do you need exact? or is pretty close good enough?

-do you want the height of the cab from the ground? or from the bottom of the body to the roof?

Pretty close will be plenty accurate for me.

Bottom of the body to the roof is what I'd like to know.

Much appreciated!

I need the distance between the back of the cab, and the centerline of the rear axle. 35"

Thanks,

From a '94 truck. Those numbers are pretty close, but not perfect....best I could do not having anyone to help hold the tape measure/to be a second set of eyes. Hope this helps.

P.S. What is the project you're working on?

Thank you!

I'm looking for a suitable vehicle to swap a Chinook camper to; right now, the Chinook is on a 1978 2wd hilux with no engine, transmission or front suspension. I'd like to move the camper portion to a more modern, 4wd vehicle.

Thank you again!

Sweet! I love this idea....and it is one that i have had many, many times. If you go to google images and type in 4x4 Toyota chinook there are some good pics. There's some of first, second and third gen toyota 4x4 pickups with the chinook grafted onto them. they all look like short bed trucks to me.

good luck with the project!

oh, here's this too:

The kid that I sold my 93 Extracab to will help me get measurements. If he doesn't hurry up and finish paying me it may be up for sale again. :Wow1:
