My local dealer got in a 2014 FG and I went to test drive it as I haven't had a chance to see one in person.
I only went a few miles and the red light came on. If I recall correctly it said, "SYS GEN". I pulled over and restarted it. The CEL came on also. I brought it back and explained what happened. Seems like it was trying to force a regeneration. One of the ladies asked me if I'd seen a light which she pointed at. It looked very familiar to the exhaust brake icon. The icon is amber and on the top left of the instrument panel. She said it illuminates when a regen is trying to take place.
So...are they related? On my Ram the regens happen quietly, smoothly, etc. I've never actually noticed one. The Ram also has an exhaust brake with a very similar icon on the switch. The FG's switch is on the lower panel toward the steering wheel, correct?
Thanks
