I used to race motocross back when I was younger. My father and I would travel to the races with either a camper trailer that was converted to include an enclosed bike/tool storage area and a seperate living quarters, or we'd go light and just bring the 2 bike trailer. The bike is out in the elements but with the maintenance we did on those things it didn't really matter because we'd go through the whole thing when we got home anyway since it was subjected to far worse in the races.

Yeah, i think with the lack of power in the 80, a light 2 bike trailer is the only option!

I've really had the bug to get back into it lately but I like you would probably have to get rid of the Cruiser (so I could buy a beater car and a new bike, haha).

Yup, i know the feeling ;)

As far as the cosmetics, unfortunately I think it reduces your appeal to just the real 4 wheelers out there, as the pretty boys who probably make up more of the buying population want to look really good when they throw the 22's onto your rig.:p

Bingo, that is why i am posting this here and not on ih8mud! :D

Oh snap! haha

The above post about the water I believe was to be directed to the other thread about Adrianna's 80.

First, sorry about that, I know this is serious business...

Second...I might be somehow interested in a trade for my Kaymar for your Slee...plus cash if need be.

LASTLY...I have seen Kevin's 80, which by the way is the "correct" color, and it is very nice. He has put a great deal of thought, and is extremely anal when it comes to making sure everything is done just right.

So, with that said, I think you would be hard pressed to do all those mods yourself for less than $15k. Heck, the sub tank alone with all the extra parts, etc. will run you close to $1500. That's assuming YOU do the install yourself. Anyway, off my soap box for now. I think your asking price is attainable. Like most specialty items, it might take a while to sell. But my immediate thought would be somewhere in the $14750 range (mentally easier, b/c it's less than 15K).

Oh, also not to call you out. But, I remember a posting somewhere saying how much you love the Tacos. Something about your body being folded like a Taco just to fit. :smiley_drive:

Good luck with your decision. I don't blame you though, it's difficult having TWO nice Green 80's here in San Diego. ; )

You are 100% correct. However, that comment was toward the pre 05 models. The 06's are quite a bit roomier for the driver and have much nicer/firmer seats (one complaint about previous tacos). I am still up in the air here, but if the 80 does go, it will be replaced with some sort of toyota pickup truck! :D

Look, I don't know you and I've never had the pleasure of seeing your 80 in person.

However, after watching and reading about your work and mods on this Cruiser, I implore you don't sell, keep going the way you're going. Get a Jumping Jack trailer and throw the KLR 650 up top on the rack. Instant tent, bike carrier and off road adventure trailer all in one.

An answer to your question, I think $12-$15K would be a fair selling price based on what I see 80's selling for on Mud, Autotrader.com and eBay.

The only vehicles I see that make me envious over what I already have are well equipped 80 series Cruisers. I think you might have some seller's remorse if you were to sell at this point. If nothing else, I will be remorseful because it's clear the time and effort you have put into your Cruiser and I was hoping to see it on a trail sometime.

Good luck with a tough decision!

I have been reading this post...and saying to myself...SAY IT AINT SO...
I want to buttress kcowyo comments. Way to much time invested to let it go IMO. The buyer pool is to small.
Jumpin jack trailer is a good option...
Regardless, good luck either way...

wow, I'm surprised to see you're selling the 80!

anyway, $15K is a great price. You shouldn't ask others what a fair price is. Figure out a number you are happy with and wait for the right buyer.

I am sure you will get one quickly- it's a good deal.

That is a sweet 80. The timing is just not right for me right now or I would be VERY interested!! I'm moving to Oahu in SEP and I'm buying a house. Otherwise I would be all over it, especially since you are in SD. Good luck. I'm looking at used 80/100s vs. new Taco's and its a tough choice, luckily I don't have any money to do anything with right now :friday:
