This design reminds me of the Military tool trailers.

Nice design Mr King. I like the CNC cutout bulkheads you have come up with along with the integrated storage for your Oz-tent Very nice. I think if you buy SketchUp Pro you can export as a DXP file for CNC machines to read.

I'm a fan of plywood builds and you will be surprised at how light your final trailer will be. I would build lighter next time around and even for a trailer I think a good strong 1/2" floor and spine along with 1/4 walls would be plenty. I fibreglassed mine completely but would only do this if I used thinner walls for a bit of impact strength. Not needed with my 3/8" ones. That would save a lot of weight although I would still tape the seams for joint strength and just epoxy the rest. Epoxy is your friend with wood :) Check out my build thread in my signature if you are interested and also see Wavebreakers build too http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/65881-My-Woody-expo-trailer. Much closer to your ideas.

For doors I would build like The CrowsWing http://www.expeditionportal.com/for...ffroad-Teardrop-Trailer?p=1086265#post1086265 next time around. Mine are ok but there are better ways.

Good luck and I'm looking forward to following along.

Thank you for the compliment and the advice!

I just started a conversation with a company about what they will need for the CNC router.

I was thinking seriously about a lighter build but this will be carrying a 1.8m roof top tent most of the time.

All joints are dadoed and/or rabbited and/or notched and/or whatever the terms are for fitting a board into a slot... I have been an aircraft mechanic most of my adult life. Since there is very little wood in a modern airplane or helicopter this is a new skill set for me. I'm just doing what makes sense to me at this point. I do have much to learn about adhesives, waterproofing and hardware.

I am going through every build thread I can find and yours just went on the list!

Thank you again!

Mr. King
