Its like reading hebrew with me, I have a little 2 meter vhf handheld that I keep with me for weather reports but that's about all I use it for. Ill check out that thread firehawk
So I got bored tonight and decided I was tired of hitting my knee on the CB every time I pushed on the gas pedal. After close consideration to many possible spots Ive decided that taking out the glove box and making a little command center would work great.
I can fit a dual band 2meter to the left of that and Im going to make a little platform underneath of them for pens and a little notebook for writing down frequencies and grids and what have you.
ah yes, a coolant leak I found a all aluminum 2 row on ebay for 164 I'm thinking about going with that. This combined with needing tires, ugh. Is it just me or does mechanical failure seem to happen all at once haha.
new radiator.... 92 dollars. new water pump.... 39 dollars. 16" electric fan.... 25 dollars. the ability to drive my jeep to work without staring at the temp gauge.... well its a little under 160 bucks. running good now probably going to do an oil change and new plugs and wires next week. now im looking at getting some jk wheels and tires so if anyone has any leads in my area lemme know.
so it turns out my daughter wasnt the only one getting candy when we went trick or treating this year. we stopped by a house that had a nice looking jk in front of it and i had to comment. he ended up having his stock wheels and tires in his garage just taking up space. unfortunately, and i should have known, the lug pattern was different so i took the tires off, painted my old wheels and threw on some fresh new A/Ts. fixed up my coolant issue, and all of my previous leaks are now non existent.
I decided on a different mounting point for my cb. I pulled apart the entire dash and center console trying to decide on where I wanted it finally I decided on this.
tomorrow ill throw the dash back together. Throw some pics up of your set up with all your coms/ GPS equipment mounted. I need some ideas. I bought a few extra outlets and a 400 watt inverter that'll be going in tomorrow as well.
