Explo tour in wild Romania

Hi

This is a little movie about our last tour in Romania, eastern Europe (August 2014).

Participants were coming mainly from France and Switzerland. That was a 3 weeks tour, made up with about 85% of our driving time on little tracks. Romania is unique as a big part of the nature still remain very preserved ( at least in the mountains ). The countryside also continue to live like at the beginning of the last century, with strong and still living culture and traditions. I'm always touched by the real kindness and simplicity (in a good way) of the Romanian people in the countryside. Romania received a lot of rain the last 3-4 months. The result was some very wet tracks, 4 tracks cutted by landslides, and 2 others by rivers running out of their beds.
I'm leading the pack with our Black Bug, a Nissan Patrol Y61. Hope you like the movie.
All the best

Nico

I remember growing up in Prahova Valley as a kid, all the fun we used to have bringing the sheep up in the mountains for the summer and spending the summer up there with dad and his flocks. I will one day return. My brother who still resides there works for fish and wildlife, and he's always driving the trails in his Lada Niva. All those mountain dirt roads are strategic roads from back in the day. Here in the US, at least on the east coast, there are literally no places to drive off road. I will one day return and take a tour of the good ol' country on the back of a rented dirt bike. That should be fun.
