Thanks for sharing the trip report......love exploring the mining history of SoCal deserts.

Thank you! Death Valley and the Mojave Desert have become my first choice destination due to the variety of terrain as well as the short to moderate distances to get there.

Thanks for writing this up....oh man do I really need to get to out that way more.

I completely understand why you prefer to post on your blog vs a full write up here, but I want to also say thanks for giving the great teaser pics and comments so folks know going to the blog is worth it. Plus it adds to Expo.

Thanks for taking me along, it really helps on the rough nights at the hospital :)

Thanks for understanding! Ever since my Salt Tram thread was trashed the blog approach was the best solution. If the forum software here allowed more protection to trip reports or build threads it would help a lot. TacoDoc's build thread was recently getting derailed by one guy and as polite as Dave was asking the guy to stop it had little effect.

Anyhow, I'm glad that my trip report provided a small escape. I forgot to mention in the blog that one of the mines allowed you to walk a little over a quarter mile through the mountain and come out on the other side. That was quite an amazing short hike!

Thank you! This is a great time of year to head out there. I see at your site that you have also been out to White Pocket which is a magnet for photographer's. I have my pix from there in my blog.

Sweet! you were in my neck of the woods. I'm from Mojave but currently living 20 miles west in Tehachapi mtns. This is pretty neat area. You have death valley and the sierras a couple hours away. And we have The red rock canyon/jawbone and sequoias all within 20 minutes. Desert or mountains with glaciers and forest for the weekend? Just pick one and go!!!

If you have some spare time to look at my blog you can see I've spent a fair amount of time out that way but it is very cool that it is all in your backyard!
