Expo-Capable Airplane Hauler | Seeking Design Advice

Bingo. Thanks for the video link @Teardropper.

Upon further research I've found an Avid or Kitfox will fit inside a 20 - 22 foot V-Nose enclosed trailer. More specific, a 20-22 foot box plus the forward section of the V-Nose. The airplane's rudder & tail section extend into the v-section of the trailer. A 22 foot aluminum trailer, with a dialed anti-sway hitch is my personal maximum allowable rig behind my 4runner. At around 2200 lbs of dry weight, the stability, braking and power factors won't be an enormous issue. I know many people will disagree.

This isn't to say I've made a final decision, but in the pacific northwest, the weather protection an enclosure will provide this reasonably expensive toy is worth special consideration, especially a fabric covered experimental with who knows how many potential entry points for water intrusion over time. The idea of lingering moisture in avionics, control linkages and fuel tanks kind of scares me.

The suspension on the typical toy hauler of this size is rated for 5k - 7k lbs. I imagine a 650lbs airplane is going to experience an unnecessary amount vibration. Some of the Avid Flyers are even lighter. I’ve seen people place high density foam around key areas of the cargo bay for dampening - i'll be looking further into this as well using fresh water storage as ballast. I don't think swapping the trailer suspension for lighter springs would necessarily be best for towing stability or cost effectiveness.
