I had a spare on my 79 Chevy back years ago. 40 gallons in the bed. I just wired/plumbed a switch and line between the stock line to the elec fuel pump (i had pulled the mechanical pump for an electric). I didn't bother with the guage. I only used it on trips but would drive it empty then switch to the stock tank which gave me another 200 miles and the gauge.
