Well, all good things must come to an end.

The Montero is back up and running, honestly better than it has since I bought it. The shop did a great job getting it going. That being said, I'm done.

I don't have time to wrench on it... hell, I barely have time to type this out. 12+ hour work days will do that to you.

I've had some great times in it, and made some amazing memories, but it's time for someone who can give her the attention she needs and gets some more use out of her. Right now she's draining my wallet and only getting driven a few hundred miles a year.

No real problems left, everything going on it very minor (and I will slowly work on correcting those as time goes on).

Known issues:
Small parasitic drain. Needs to be run at least once a week.
Temperature gauge has lost its mind. Replaced the sensor, no dice. Looks like I need to do the re-solder trick I've seen on YouTube.
Slight engine whine over the speakers (though I've got three ground wires running to the head unit). Might just need to replace the cheap head unit I have in there.
Occasional P0441 code, likely a bad seal on the top of the fuel tank.
Tie rod boots need replaced.

Mods:
Wiring set up for isolated mods (flip the circuit breaker and they're effectively disconnected from the wiring harness). Ground switched to cut down on return wires.
Custom six position switch plate, three positions open for your electronics
Baja lights up front
Switch-operated rearview camera hooked to 4in screen head unit
CB w/ loudspeaker
265/75R16 Kumho AT51 Road Venture LTs with about 40-50% tread left
Oak roof rack
Two extra accessory ports in rear passenger compartment
Rear fire extinguisher
KYB Shocks (2016)
ADD front skid plate

New/Replaced Parts/Services:
02 sensors - 5/2017
Alternator - 10/2018
Timing belt assembly - 10/2018
Harmonic balancer - 10/2018
Crank sensor - 4/2017
Cam sensor - 4/2017
All gaskets - 4/2017
Most idler pulleys - 2017/2018
Radiator hoses - 2/2017
Injectors cleaned - 2/2017
Spark Plugs - 2/2017
Rear woofer - 11/2016
Dealer transmission flush - 10/2016
Front/Rear Diff flush - 2017
T-case flush - 6/2018
TB cleaned - 2017

Slight denting on passenger side, overall paint is in good shape. No rust (Southern California car its whole life)

Also lots of extra OEM parts from the rebuild and other upgrades.

So if anyone's interested in a 2002 that had a top and bottom end rebuild last year, a new timing belt/harmonic balancer a couple months ago, and countless hours of love poured into it, shoot me a message.

Thanks for all the information and support over the years guys, you've been great.

Hey guys,

I need to get rid of her pretty soon as I'm moving across the country and won't be able to ship the Montero. Anyone want to save her from the junkyard? PM me an offer.

Have you posted on the USA Montero Garage Sale Page on Facebook? That will likely get more views than here for a sale. It's still got plenty of life left for someone not to use it.

That's all folks. She's gone. Can't say it has been all sunshine and rainbows but when I had her out doing what she was designed for it was awesome. Thanks for all the help, guidance, and encouragement. Here's hoping the new owners keep her going for another 15 years at least.
