F150 overland build

I'm in the same looking at suspension upgrades boat. I threw a hell bent steel leveling kit and a slightly taller rear block to get some height on my new 2016. I dumped all my available fun money on tires and skid plates (as well as some other stuff) so I didn't have enough left to do the final suspension setup. I'm going back and forth between Fox and Boss. I'm hoping to have it done by next spring since I have a trip to Moab planned. What rear springs are you looking at? I'm interested in doing that as well.
If I change the rear springs I will go with deavers. But the more I think about it I may just put air bags.

So next in line after that is suspension.... im torn on which way to go. I will def be going with coilovers and possibly diff springs/ shocks in the back since all the extra weight is making it sag a bit. If i dont do diff springs i may go with airbags in the rear..... As far as brands are concerned im torn between Icon, Kings, Fox and Boss.....

I am a firm believer in the saying "you get what you pay for". Is your truck fully loaded at all times or do you take off your RTT, etc. I think that will be a difference in what rear suspension to have.

I have airbags in my truck. They're just Meh. They're older so I have to manually fill them up all the time. The compressor broke and the bags have tiny leaks...so I have a bit of a negative biased towards them. But When I Load up my truck or Tow and pump up the bags, it definitely keeps the truck level.

If you do keep it loaded all the time I would go with an actual rear suspension system. If I had a Toyota, I'd go with Icon no doubt as I feel that is their specialty. Not many companies have awesome suspension for F150's but I believe King is the best. They have proven themselves time and time again so I would go with them. Especially since you use your truck as advertising for your company. When someone sees the blue kings underneath that usually sets the tone.

As far as springs, call Deaver Leaf Springs in Santa Ana. The do custom builds and will be able to make exactly what you want. A friend called them a month ago and there was a 2 -3 month wait time but that was for IH Scout Springs so it could be different for a ford. If not Deaver, look around for custom leafs in your area.

And , if you do go to Deaver, let me know. I work right down the street from them and would love to meet you and your rig!

Edit: Just saw you mentioned deaver in your last post....

I went with a full lift. I hated the way the level didn't give me full droop, not that stock travel is amazing but id rather have the travel I can and not limit it. I also chose to do an add a leaf to help with the rear end sag especially when its loaded with gear. If money were not an option I would see if I could get the deaver springs in the rear with a load rating that would work for my needs. I intend to get the fox resi shocks for the front in the future.

Raul with what you do with yours I'd spend the money on Fox 2.5s for the front and either 2.0s or 2.5s rear. I like the price pour on the boss coilovers but I haven't seen anyone use them as consistent off road as you use your truck

raul, If you don't flex out alot, Fox 2.5's front and rear, and a set of good airbags would be a great option for you. I will be running a budget setup like this on my 03 F150. I will be using cheaper shocks and airbags. My rig is high enough since stock, it sit much higher than most new trucks with a 2" lift under them. I parked next to a new dodge 2500 4x4 the other day and my little ole 150 had approx 2" more ground clearance under it. even with the factory plastic steps on. It a shame the truck market has gone the way it has. They are glorified cars now.

Raul,
I will be going somewhat budget with my build. Next spring I will be upgrading the shocks(Bilstein) and springs(Ford), changing over to 3.73's from 3.55's, and slightly larger tires 33"-34" This is still my DD/TV.

I hear you. I love the comfort of my 2012 Platinum as a DD. But I struggle with how low it is compared to other F150s. Mine even has the tow package which I thought would mean heavier springs.

Deaver makes a drop in "chase pack" for the f150s, not as much droop, but heavier spring rate than normal to help with heavier weight in the bed.

Kings > fox > icon > sway a way > blistein

I have kings on my diesel as you've seen on Instagram, sway a way on a shop 2015 f150 which has the deaver chase pack in the rear, and a high dollar icon setup on a shop 2014 raptor.

I can give you a ride in any of them, just let me know. Kings will ride the best for the money.
