Listing my 2017 Gas Ford F-250 with Outfitter Apex 8 Truck camper for sale. We love our truck and camper but the family is growing and we need more space. I chose this setup to be a go anywhere rig. The overall length is ~22ft so the truck and camper can drive and park in the city if necessary but can also tackle moderate trails and can turn around when the road runs out. The Apex camper is well suited for off-grid camping but is also at home at a campsite with water, sewer, and shore power.
Mileage: 41,000
Asking: $45000
Located in Salem, OR (1hr S of Portland)
Truck:
This 2017 Gas F-250 XLT has the 6.2L V8 with 6 speed automatic transmission. This engine/trans combination is very reliable and well known, having been used in the super duty trucks for many years. The truck was purchased for the purpose of hauling a truck camper. It has the FX4 package with locking rear diff, it has the camper package which specs a stronger rear axle, springs, and includes a rear swaybar. It also has the larger Sync 3 display and power extending and folding mirrors for towing/hauling. This truck also has the 4.30 rear end which improves acceleration while hauling and allows for larger tires without sacrificing performance.
Upgrades to the truck include Torklift frame mounted tie downs for the camper, and stiffer Rancho 9000 series shocks as well as rear springs from an F-350 to help reduce squat with the camper loaded. The truck also has 35" whee/tire combo from a 2023 F-350. I've also added some Rough Country grill lights for off-road driving as well as Baja Designs ditch lights.
Camper:
This 2010 Apex 8 fits short bed trucks and is constructed with an aluminum frame and fiberglass exterior for durability. This camper has all systems in good working order. I have upgraded the electrical system to run off a single 175ah lithium battery. The battery is charged via the truck‘s alternator via a Victron DC-DC charger and is monitored by a Victron battery monitor. With this set up you can go 2 to 3 days between driving the truck and still never run out of power. The camper has a working three-way refrigerator that runs off of AC/DC or propane. The truck has a very powerful propane heater, as well as a propane, hot water heater. This camper is very unique because it is a pop top model that features a full wet bath. There’s large storage areas underneath the north south queen mattress, as well as under the dinette. An AC inverter is also installed, which can run the onboard microwave or charge devices. The camper has large heated fresh, gray, and black water tanks for 4 season camping.
