F350 Tremor: ‘Where 2 next’ a family trekking transport

After a year of chewing the fat... finally put in a special order in for an F350 Lariat Tremor. 7.3 engine, six seater, winch; and various other options functional and luxury items (ie no carpet, dual batts, etc). It’ll be a few months before she shows up... but it’ll be a nice start to the new year.

It’ll be this color combo (antimatter blue/stone grey) as seen on an F150.

Working with ATAdventure on an Atlas camper topper to put on the back.

This is a dealer demo parked next to the her older sister. Haven’t decided if we’re getting rid of the F150 or sequoia for it yet.

Eventually plan to throw a buckstop bumper up front, and a tbd rear bumper; but those will likely be awhile, given the combined expense of the topper and truck.
Similar setup/color combo on this guys truck...

But I’m fairly confident the setup will take care of 90% of my needs straight away.

This is the current drawer setup; still trying to think of how or if I’ll change it on the new truck...

to be continued...

Congrats. I put in my order for a 2021 star white, blacked out diesel f250 six seat tremor as well. Getting rid of my avalanche raptor and moving on.

Very nice! I'm sure you'll enjoy it!

Looks like your F150 has the heavy duty payload option or, am I wrong? Still not enough payload, is that why the move to a 1 ton?

Yup; the F150 has 2250 Payload on her; which progressively got eaten up by the rack/topper; and all of the family gear we haul. From a driveability standpoint; even when towing the trailer (and in hindsight) well overloaded she handled great, and didn’t skip a beat. If 1-I wasn’t so liability conscious & 2- I didn’t have a strong desire for a Tremor; the F150 would keep me happy for a long time.

I weighed her on the two summer trips we took this summer, and both times we were over.

In some ways the 7.3 will be a downgrade from the twin turbos of the f150. And I’ll be losing AWD. But I know long term I’ll utilize and need the extra capacity/capabilities of the new truck.

PS... I’ll probably be listing the F150 in the for sale side of the forums if anyone’s interested.

The truck you ordered is pretty much exactly what I'll be looking to get next year. Such a good looking and functional truck. I can't wait to see what you do with it!

Yes, payload is the one thing that has me looking at 3/4 ton trucks. It's just that 95% of the time for me a 1/2 ton would work.

In Canada anyway, Ford got rid of the HDPP option on Lariats so there would be no loss of 4 Auto moving from a F150 to a Super Duty.

Can't wait to see the Tremor!

It’s a 7x14 v-nose snowmobile trailer converted to a redneck camper. Averages about 800lb tongue depending on how I load it. I’ll see if I can dig up some photos of it. It’s currently being used for more for storage than anything as our current place doesn’t have a garage.

Yep, my trailer tongue weight is approx 750 lbs. Eats up a good chunk of my 1,800 lb payload. I've got lots of room on my tow rating. It's payload I'm running out of.

Seems silly to look at a 3/4 ton truck to tow a 5,000 lb holiday trailer. But... payload. ( We glamp heavy, haha)

People just don’t understand how fast weight adds up. We’re 500lbs just in passengers (fam of 5). Food, water, camp gear, all sort of kids toys, etc, and the typical half-ton payload doesn’t look so robust.

HDPP 1/2 ton or 3/4 ton makes a lot of sense when family camping. 1-ton, if pulling heavy trailers or slider in camper.

Yep. I usually load up on firewood. So that doesn't help either. We'd be okay but, I really want to get a boat rack to carry an aluminum fishing boat. So that stuff + boat motor on top of the stuff we already bring I think would put me over. Anyway, I'll stop derailing this thread. Can't wait to see the Tremor!

Officially listing the old mistress up for sale...

Also saw a nearly identical order to what my order is... and it is sweet!!!

Based on this should see a 1300# increase in payload. Was hoping for closer to 1500, but can’t complain.
