If I had cash to burn I would totally make a much worse monstrosity like that and drive it around very proudly while annoying the crap out of overlanders worldwide.

I don't think you'd annoy the majority of overlanders (well depends on what constitutes monstrosity lol). Look at the size of Earthroamers and unimogs that everybody drools over.

This thread confuses me. The **************' about this rig, I mean. This forum is full of people drooling over tired old school buses and ambulances and people are complaining about this thing? Depending on the day of the week it would be the most ingenious idea yet.

It's scary because it is probably the same build quality throughout. And what we can see of the build quality if the few pictures isn't very well done.

Now the other builds, those look well done. Don't have issues with those. The issue is with the original post, looks like a rolling death trap for anyone near it. Champaign tastes with Natural light results.

The build quality was probably fine as it is a Sportsmobile... It's the maintenance of the vehicle that was weak. But I get your point!

Was a sportmobile. When it was an E350 it was a sportmobile. After it was grafted to the F650, all bets on build quality are off.

I think it rocks. Sure, it looks like it's been rode hard and put away wet. Fine. Better that than a mall queen.

As for build quality, the sheet metal work shows that someone knew what they were doing.

When I looked at it the cab to body metal connection was perfectly radiused with no cracks and was in my opinion professionally done. The rear suspension was air bags which I don't think is stock f650. The exhaust was located under the passenger running board, all stainless and reminded me of that used for airport fueling trucks. It may be that the current owner is not the converter and has allowed the condition to slip. The other thing I noticed was the fiberglass top is not the usual sporstmobile top. Wondered if the emblems were the only Sportsmobile item.
