Fab Shops in Orange County California?

Hey everyone, I am wondering if anyone knows of any good fabrication shops in Orange County. I want to get a custom set of sliders and will soon be needing a custom tire gate rear bumper. I know Demello is pretty close, and I am going to talk to them, but I was just wondering if there are any others around.

Thanks

they're indeed in los angeles, but it's another option for the original poster as it's such a short drive out from OC - straight shot up the 5, short of downtown.

Demello moved to Corona, but I don't recommend them. I had them do some work on my truck and
1. they put my CO's on backwards!
2. when they made my old cargo rack they got weld splatter all over my rear windows and scratched the crap out of the roof!

Buyer beware when it comes to SoCal "fab shops" my friend :costumed-smiley-007

Wow, thanks for the review. YOur old rack was actually the thing that was leading me to their shop, as it was a great design, but its the little things like this that really show their true light. Thanks

I kept that under my hat for a long time, but it still chafes me.

Loyalty is earned in my world and I have no qualms about calling a spade a spade.

Have you considered Allpro for sliders? I had mine made by Bentup in Sacramento, I recommend either of these.

T&J Off Road in Orange are a really good group of guys. www.tandjperformance.com I have not had any fab work done there but I know they do a lot of the cages for the Jeep Speed race series. I had my gears and ARB lockers installed there and have extremely satisfied. They are one of those shops that the quote and the end price are the same unless there is a problem, in which case you get a phone call and an explanation before the work is done.

I can second T&J's work quality. They rebuilt the ARB locker that I just installed yesterday. Max really worked with me to control costs and kept me informed during the whole process.

I also used them way in the past for work on my Bronco and was very happy then too.

The allpro is actually the base for the custom ones I want. If I cannot get them custom made for a good price, I will just pick up All Pro. ACtually, Bentup is the other part of my custom ones. Too bad AJ isnt doing anything anymore. Ultimatly, I want to combine the allpro kickouts with AJ's "kickup design" seen below:

I want the kickup for more protection and the allpro kickout for a nice pivot point. If only AJ were still making things..haha

better than demello

In your first post you said you’d talk to Demello, I would suggest you also talk to Tim @ DMZ. I’ve had work done by both shops; sliders and a swing out rear bumper @ Demello, and a winch bumper @ DMZ. both have their strengths, for example, Demello is great at the pre-fabed or simple fabrication, DMZ is great at more complicated constructions. I liked DMZ better because the communication was better, he would actually take note what I said, Demello on the other hand forgot that I ever gave them pictures and paperwork to use as a guide line (ex.the swing out tire gate was supposed to be good for a 35" tire but will only barely hold a 33)

like i said both shops have their strengths. i would go to Demello for their hybread slider (these things are bullet proof), and DMZ for your any custom work.

Bentup is closed I think.

What type of vehicle are we talking about here?

Yeah, Bentup no longer makes things as a buisness..its too bad too, I would drive to sac to pick up a set of AJ's if he was still making them.

Its for an 05 tacoma access cab

Thanks, I will try DMZ as well.
