Due to a mixup in our reservations we ended back at Wahweep campground for the night. We thought about just staying out in Grand Escalante, but we decided to do some more exploration around Lake Powell the next day so it was just as easy to take the dirt road back the way we came. We picked up a new pocket book on the constellations earlier in the day. The view in the sky was just as spectacular as what we had seen on the way out.

After a brief stop at the dam the next morning, we continued a few miles past Page, AZ., to the short hike out to see Horseshoe Bend. The view was amazing. I am always amazed what a little bit of water does.

The local wildlife was out in abundance...

Did I see your Sportsmobile in Vegas at the Tropicana the week of 11/13 -11/16?

Or did I see it around Escalante the week before that? It's looking very familiar and it seems we covered some of the same ground recently.

Cool pics. So are we to assume you're happy so far with the Sportsmobile?

We didn't make it much past 215 Loop in N. Las Vegas when we were down there. You may have seen us in Escalante though..

I can't express how much I like this van :D With a bicycle on board, and my BMW GSAdventure in tow, there aren't many other things I need...

Well, next stop Lee's ferry. About 30 miles from Page, AZ., at the base of the Vermillion Cliffs, is the turnoff to Lee's ferry. There were these interesting rock formations along the side of the road. The sign basically said rocks fall from the cliffs above and come to rest on the ground below. Over time portions of the ground erode, leaving the mushroom looking formations...
