FASS / Air Dog Fuel System with Fuel Bowl Delete - 7.3L Super Duty (1999-2003)

Changing the fuel filter on an E-Series 7.3L diesel is moderately difficult because there is not much room to work with and you have all kinds of stuff in your way. The fuel bowl is buried in the valley right on top of the HPOP. I have seen some YT videos of people deleting the fuel bowl, adding a pressure regulator, and moving to a remote fuel filter, all with no-name parts from Amazon. Companies like Air Dog and FASS have some impressive systems to filter the fuel and separate the water and my gut says they are probably a better engineered and less risky of an upgrade.

So the question is, has anyone with a 1999-2003 model E-Series with a 7.3L installed either FASS or Air Dog and was it worth it?

TIA
Dave

I've looked at them. I've got a 2001 7.3 F450. Primary advantage is getting rid of the fuel bowl itself which has way too many bobs and bits that can leak. I'll probably do it next year. I've replaced the fuel bowls in my 7.3s a few times over the years. I carry an extra drain petcock and o-rings just in case. It's a crappy design but filter replacements are super easy. 2 minutes if you're working slow. I just leave the plastic cowl off as it's useless.

Off topic but another easy mod that should be a factory thing is installing an upper radiator hose from the dual alternator setup super duty. This routes the hose around the serp belt instead of through it. In factory form, you have to remove the upper radiator hose to swap the belt. New hose setup you just crank the tensioner and swap the belt. Slick. $30 fix.
