Getting ready for the Baja Extravaganza.
I've been racking my brain trying to figure out how to add more weight to the truck so I mounted a compressor and a 2.5 gal. air tank over the weekend.

I started to mount it under the bed in the back, but decieded I have enough weight behind the axle as t is, so I found a void under the cab that I could stuff some parts in...

Decided to keep it uniform and mouted the coupler in the bedside next to the aux. battery switch.

I'm still going to make my buddy Hartman blow up his kayak by hand on our Baja trip though...:D

My little helper was stoked to be able to help in any way she could...

The "speed hole" in the tank mount isn't helping with the weight gain!:sombrero:

As always, nice work! Who makes that compressor?

Baja Fever is taking hold, next months trip is going to be so cool!:wings:

September 2011 update.

I love my truck...
Since the last post we've put over 2000, literally trouble free (knocking on wood) off-road miles, 1600 of which were AWESOME Baja trips and thousands of hywy miles.

A couple things I've added in the last 6 months:

Needed a roof rack to hold our Kayaks for our April Baja trip.

Started out with a cheap aftermarket rack that sucked and decided to make a permanent one.
Thru-bolted and silicone everything.

I finally got around to putting bump stops on the front.
I was getting worried about burning up unit bearings because I was using the tire and wheel well as the stop

The factory shackle hanger bent one trip to Baja, so I added some steel to it. It bent two more times after the fact so I designed some super turbo kick *** hangers.

The truck came with some cobbled up shackles that the previous owner had hacked up out of stock shackles, so I whipped up some new one's.

As with everything you build, awesome!

Any idea what that beautiful piece of "fabporn" weighs? Is that .375"?
