Hey SD, yeah it's been awhile. Moved to north NV a few years ago and been super busy spending time outdoors. It's just easy to get lost in the back country around here and explore awesome country...
So it's with great reluctance that we're selling the Fernweh. We love it. It's so well sorted out and easy to use and live with. Alas the family needs a little more room to be comfortable. So we just put a deposit on a Black Series. I'm a little apprehensive about the change because public opinion is all over the place with them. I'll be really disappointed to have gotten rid of the Fernweh if the Black Series doesn't work out.

How has the UTE flatbed been holding up for you?
Hey 216. The UTE has been awesome. Lightweight and strong. In fact we got a new truck and swapped the whole assembled bed and boxes in one piece onto the new truck. Really the UTE made the whole thing work so well. I wouldn't have liked the slide in camper nearly as much without the flatbed and boxes. The camper didn't need more power to haul it but the truck is a lot newer and more comfortable Lariat.

I saw your dimensioned picture, but then it disappeared this morning for some reason. So I found their german website and overlaid inch measurements on top for anyone who is interested.

Chuckles if you saw my first response to your post please disregard. That was the original specs. My camper was custom built to accommodate a full size American truck. This pic shows the correct dimensions accounting for the longer cabin. The front wall of the cabin was extended 9 inches, resulting in a shorter overhang. Sorry for the confusion.

Even better! With the website specs I was thinking that it might be too short for the truck bed, because the rear lower door has to swing down past the edge. Looks like you thought of that too and solved it, great idea.

Is the camper exclusively foam panel construction with fiberglass or aluminum skin or does it have an aluminum or wood frame? Asking not as a buyer but just because composite panel construction has great heat management characteristics that you might not find with your Black Series after it heat soaks for a day while on the road. Again just musing out of curiosity.
