FG over the Rockies

Drove my FG from Denver to Glenwood Springs today. First time, I've driven it thru the Eisenhower Tunnel and over Vail Pass. Very pleased with its performance. It wasn't loaded very heavily, just the service body, a couple of people, a couple of boats and camping gear but it pulled the grades very well. Had to drop down to 4th on the grade out of Georgetown going westbound but the rest of the climb was in 5th. Eastbound, the steepest part of Vail Pass required 4th gear, same with eastbound tunnel but it held about 47mph.

The exhaust brake is really nice on the downgrades.

Hmmm. Well, I guess I won't be posting about what gears we used on that stretch. But I will say we had plenty of time to examine the landscape...

Nice to see what a Fuso with a little (OK, a LOT :p ) less weight did up through there.

Congrats on your trip. Please keep us posted on trips, progress, etc.
