Well guys I finally got it home!!!
My new to me 2002 Taco 4door. All the thanks to James (WhereTheHellIsJames?) for making it a great experience!!
Flew in to Portland Monday morning @ 9:30. James met us at the airport, and drove us back to Hood River to complete the transaction.
The plan was to go through the Blaine crossing as James mentioned it was typically pretty fast to get through. Unfortunately they close the vehicle export office @ 3:30pm. We ended up staying in Ferndale overnight to hit the crossing @ 8am sharp the next morning.
All in all the crossing went smooth, but due to the delay meant that we had to cover Blaine to Edmonton now in 1 day as I had to get to work for Wednesday morning.
Anyways, to keep it short we made it home at about 12:30am last night with the only hiccup being some fog about 2-3hrs from Edmonton. Truck ran fantastic, and is better on the highway that I thought it would have been considering the mods done on it. Tonight will be all about cleaning it up and some minor changes to suit my bike hauling style a bit better. Then the out of province inspection and she is free and clear.
I dont have too many plans for it right now as I need to get the student loans paid off, and it has all the bare necessities that I could possibly need in my current situation. I would like to get a portable air compressor as they are absolutely invaluable when out in the boonies. I have also toyed with the idea of moving the rack to the roof of the cab and taking the canopy off as I haul bikes around in the summer.
I cannot wait to get some of my own shots of the truck as these were from James.
The tires on it right now are 265/75/16's and I cannot see how you guys stuff 255/85's without rubbing as they should be about 1.5" larger correct? These seem somewhat tight as is.
Again, I cannot thank James enough as this was my first time buying a vehicle in this manner and he was super patient and very helpful!!!
