Finally got the chance to really test the disco and let me say I am extremly impressed. The small pond (lol) you see us going through was actually quite deep. The only other vehicle to go all the way through it was a deuce and a half. Ok I'll quit talking and get to the pics now lol please enjoy. I'll be adding more throughout the week

Oh by the way the young chap on top was Brooks (my spotter) and let me say he may look goofy, but he was by far one of the best spotters I've ever wheeled with :friday:

It's attached to the cross bars using heavy duty u bolts. And believe it or not it's held up very well. I haven't had a single problem out of it.

I don't know about that. You've don't seemed to have really tested it, with the exception of letting your spotter sit up there, have you loaded it up with gear? I'd be very weary of a setup like that especially with the application of transporting heavy gear or for some odd reason a person. If its just for looks, or to mount a light setup, or just something to attach limb risers to (which stills sounds sketchy) it could be okay but if you throw a spare tire, cargo cases, fire wood, or some reason a hi lift jack you could have some problems.

I never mentioned anything about testing the rack just the rover bud lol. A hi lift should never be exposed to the elements, it's mounted inside the cargo area. My limb risers work very well with the rack. It's held 3 full Jerry cans of fuel and one of water, as well as a cooler and other provisions. I paid $125 for that rack and it has performed well beyond my expectations. If its not good enough for you no big deal lol it works for me and my budget so that's all that matters to me and my wife :)

Also forgot to mention my partner and I are members of a swift water rescue team and hi angular rough terrain rescue team, and the rack has no problem holding all our gear and other supplies.

Why not get some feet for the roof rack that fit into the gutters. It is a considerably stronger/stable solution when using a rack than using those weak cross bars. Have you seen how the cross bars mount into the roof rails?

Edit: Are those pictures from the New Market area?

No sir they are from Morgan county around florette. For one I can't find any anywhere. Trust me guys if I could spend $1000 on a roof rack I would! But what I have works great, why fix it if it's not broken lol I did see how they mounted, mine are mounted very well and I have no problems out of them.

Those pictures are making me wish I was home right now eating some Little Rosies.

Not to burst your bubble, but you can find roof racks for your disco considerably less than 1000 dollars and will be a stable option for your set up. It just takes time and patience to find one. Personally I wouldn't have a roof rack at all except I ended with a Safety Devices low profile adventure rack a few years ago.

Yeah I understand lol I just needed one ASAP for all of our rescue gear. I feel as long as it works and I'm happy with it that's all that matters lol. I'm not gonna have a rtt up there or anything over like 350lbs lol plus it looks different from other rovers so it kinda sets me apart! Speaking of little Rosie's brother we hit them up every Monday morning after a long night on the ambulance and in the ER because that's the only place in Huntsville that serves liquor and beer that early lol

Last time I was there (Easter Weekend) I remember seeing some EMTs and Nurses getting breakfast there. Do you work for Hemsi?
