fire extinquisher

I mounted my fire extinquisher on my shelf in the back. Having problems getting the strap around the extinquisher, just wont go. Any ideas. Any other suggestions on mounting, placement. :smiley_drive:

I tried the back window thing too. I just didn't like the velcro it came with, knowing that it'd wouldn't hold in an accident. I moved it to the TJ rear storage box that I mounted in the cargo area. Was able to bolt it down that way. Seen others mount it in the "mag light mount" area and also under the driver's seat.

As far as the strap...I can only say try a quick fist or maybe heat the plastic up a bit to get it to strech. The strap on the one in the KJ fits fine, the kitchen one will not make that last little bit to buckle.

I put mine on the pillar next to the glass, 2 screws and BANG there it is nicely mounted. You can see it on the left side of the photo.

Depending on how big the extinguisher is, I mounted mine right next to the drivers seat. Again size would be n issue.

Its one designed for boats and cars. Raining today, Will check out beside the seat or under it. Thank you.:smiley_drive:

I'd put it with in reach of driver.....you'd be surprised how much less your car will burn up in the 3-5 seconds it takes to get to the back

Dumb question...

I live in AZ temps get to 100+ so 150in a car is not un heard of. Anyone ever have issues with extinguishers in cars that get that hot.

I mounted mine, which is a larger one in a 4" plastic pipe cap for the base and the top is bungeed to the bulkhead.

Hey thanks a lot Ice, went to the jeep this morning and noticed the nut and bolt holding my fire extinguisher rattled loose. It's now rolling around in the cargo area. thanks for jinking it. :coffeedrink: j/j.

well i guess i might look at under the seat mount now.

Yea workingin the desert here in Yuma, AZ my fire extinguisher has no issues at all being left in teh vehicle when the vehicle is being pounded by the sun. The extinguisher has been in the jeep for close to 2 years now, might be getting time for a replacement perhaps? Gunna look for an expiration date or refurb date on it if it requires one.
