Fixed antenna Montero 3rd Gen

Has anyone installed a fixed antenna on their montero? I have looked online and on here and have only found details on how to replace the oem style mast, would really like to switch over the cb shorter style antenna but want to be sure it can actually be done before I order.

I broke my factory retractable antenna off roading and didn't want to deal with it anymore so I went to the flexible style. Fitting it in with the snorkel was a PITA but I finally got it installed. The angle for the mount is a little off and the antenna leans a little but I like it a lot more than the retractable factory antenna. Good luck.

Yes I've installed the rubber mast style. Very cheap and easy to do. Do not cut the cable as per the instructions some give you. It should be long enough to reach the plug just inside the firewall.

I also have a rubber mast antenna on mine. Cheap from AutoZone. Easy to install and great reception, but not the best looking. That said, I'm not driving a trailer queen show car, so function>looks for the most part.
