FJ Cruiser Bumper

[Outdoor Logic]

So we finally got our hands on a FJ to design and create a front bumper. We have learned a lot about designing these with our past models. The focus was on strength and ease of instal. The concept always starts with card board, head scratching and a whole bunch of " how is that suppose to work".

So first the designs after templates were made up:

Next step was to cut some steel and bend it all up, this part is scary as this is a lot of plate to mess up, fingers crossed and hope our Ninjitsu is on point :

Last step miles of welding and grinding to produce a finished ready for powder bumper

I like it, clean lines. The upper tube diameter seems a little small in comparison, I suppose i'm just partial to the size ARB uses on their hoops.

That looks great. What thickness did you use and how much does it weigh as shown?

Cant tell from the pics but is it tied in to the frame? It looks like its just mounted at the frame horns. If thats the case there have been issues with winching.

The basic shell is 10 gauge ( .135 ish ) thick.. The winch boxed plate is 3/16ths
Weight is approx 90 lbs
