My initial guess is that you would end up with eye candy that would be the envy of all the mall terrain vehicle drivers but do nothing on the trail beyond keeping the rain out. Figure it out for yourself:

There's no reason why you could not use a reducer on the intake. or you can just skip the precleaner idea and carry an extra filter element or two on the trail.



If it were me, I'd paint the inside to keep the unit from rusting.
