Hey there Toyota fans!
I got a oped into finishing a half-hack-job overhaul of a 1970 FJ40. My friend really wants to keep the original 6 cylinder engine. I believe it is an “F” engine.
Someone has really messed up the brackets on the engine to make a horrible power steering conversion, and I’m having trouble setting it all right again.
The current power steering pump is in the original alternator/generator location And I’m pretty sure it is on a home made bracket… that interferes with the heater hose routing. The alternator was moved low and to the steering shaft side. And doesn’t line up straight.
Does anyone have any pictures or drawings of how this thing is supposed to be stock? Maybe better… a parts source?
Thanks!
