FJ45 or FJ55

Personal perf. For me a 55 because it has more parts available, more info on upgrades like power steering etc... and is a better wheeler. The 45 wagon has a huge overhang behind the rear wheels that gets hung up on stuff off road.

Now if you said a bobbed 45...that would be different. That would be very cool.
More info on upgrades for the 55?
There are pages and pages of conversions for the FJ40 on the web.
Essentially everything written about the front half FJ40 should apply to the FJ45 so there are a ton of resources out there for everything from engine/tranny swaps to suspension mods. Plus there are a lot of after market replacement body parts that would work.

IMHO it would be easier to stretch an 40 than bob a 45, it's something I have dreamed of for my 40. Besides bobbing the 45 would detract from it's utility as an over lander. An easier solution to the overhang would be to bump the rear axle back, it's not that difficult to do.

An FJ45 with the V8 and interior from a UZJ100 would be the kitties titties.

Hands down the FJ 45 pictured! Ive owned an a 55 and it was nice but the FJ 45 wins for the cool factor. Not many around here in the States.
