Flickr offers 1 Terabyte of storage for free

Yahoo's photo subsidiary, Flickr, is trying to attract subscribers back to the service by introducing a new web interface, and offering an unprecedented amount of free storage. Everyone gets 1 Terabyte, that's right, 1000 Gigabytes, without charge.

Flickr just released a new Android app, to go with the Flicker for iOS app they released a couple of months ago. No sign of an iPad version so far.

I've had flickr for so many years, I have thousands of photos on there. Its my default photo storage provider.

I have no idea how I would get all my photos off of there nor the next best place to store them. Also really, for $25 every two years or whatever, it isn't that bad.

Don't they allow "your" images searchable via a search engine? If so, that doesn't float my boat very well.

Yes but you can disable it. I did that after receiving a few requests to use my images. I send back with my rates then private the photo.

After I set it to prevent searches to use my material, I stopped getting the requests.

The one caveat to the "free" terabyte is Flickr will be advertising on your pages. If you want a clean ad free space to show off your images it'll cost ya $50.
