FlipPac question

I just purchased a used FlipPac for my 97 Ford and i have a question about how it functions. The fabric which covers the gap of the hinge area on my unit stays outside when closed. All other pictures I have seen show this tucked inside when closed.

Is this a build style difference based on age? (I'm not sure of how old mine is, the guy I purchased from purchased it used as well.)

Or is my fabric out of whack and needs to be "re-trained" to go in instead of out.

The guy I purchased from said it always went out, not in.

The net result is the stitching is coming apart from the wind while driving down the road. And when setting up the tent, is wet if it is or has been raining.

Thanks for any response
Mike

pretty sure somewhere along its life someone didn't tuck the fabric in and sealed it up for a while.. training the fabric to stick out. it should have a good seal all the way around

The fabric and foam should fold down the middle the opposite direction, sticking tot he inside of the camper when closed. The rubber seal on the front should look just like the sides when closed. Have a helper push the fabric to the inside while you are closing it and try to "retrain" it to hinge to the inside. There is likely a fair amount of water damage if it has been that way for a long time.
