A similar sized vehicle to the Cruiser are Tahoe/Yukons and Expeditions if a good Cruiser can't be found.
GMT800 or 1st generation Expedition. Both durable with engines that regularly exceed 200,000 miles. My 2000 Suburban is at 270,000 miles. New York taxis and limousines ran those 4.6 and 5.4 Ford modular engines 300,000 miles.
They are reliable and last with proper maintenance.

The northeast is the perfect market to sell the Saab, west of the Mississippi, not so much.
Hope you don't have to rush to buy a vehicle. Do your homework and don't rush in to buying a troublesome vehicle.

Thanks for the helpful info.... seriously. I'm not in a big rush to buy a car, as my wife and I still have her awesome '04 Pathfinder to get around in. I do want something to call my own though. I had a car before I had my driver's license, and haven't been carless for more than a weeks or so since then.

I know the feeling. I bought, repaired and sold 3 cars before I got my license to finance my first keeper car.
My Dads rule was it had to be out of the garage by the time he came home from work. Luckily we had a large area next to the driveway I could use to work on and park my projects. He was a WWII infantry veteran and made me park my VW's in the street.
I have never been without my own vehicle or two since I was 16, that was 1968.
I have been without access to my own vehicle for extended periods, but generally had another vehicle I could drive.
Not having a set a wheels under my butt has caused me to rush into a couple purchases I regretted when I was younger.
