This product looked interesting. Their website says you can order through Lowes? No up front pricing available though.

That's pretty thick looking stuff. Would be too thick for cabinets, seems to be as thick as a standard house door.

We have been looking into foamcore cabinet construction. The simple answer is: Not cheap to manufacture if you want to do it right. You need pretty much the most expensive foam and adhesive. Otherwise you will not get the structural strength to hang any weight on those panels. On the upside: those cabinets would be 100% waterproof! Our calculations show that you could safe 30-40% compare to normal cabinet construction. I'm more than happy to discuss a small production run, but be warned, it's not cheap.

Carbon Core sells laminated sheets with 5mm honeycomb and 3mm plywood faces for $93 per 4x8, which seems reasonable to me. http://www.carbon-core.com/store/product/laminated-panels-sheets/
Should be stiff enough for most cabinets and weigh ~.7 lb/sq ft. If you need it stiffer you could use a thicker core with little weight increase.
